another day, another night
with a mind full of memories
and thoughts they spin
in senses lost
with memories of the sensory

as days are buried
in the sands of time
with an hour glass half empty
with the past left behind

and dusks have gone
since youve gone so long
but youre still fresh on my mind
and dawns-they come
as time drags on
and my heart swells ever kind

is this madness?
Will this sweet turn to sour?
Am I alone
in being lonely
in these solitary hours?
Well maybe you should just
break my heart from afar
and dispel this spell
that im under

take a breath and shug these feelings asunder

oh, im not the best of bards
or at poetic alchemy
and all the gold I make from stones
of words dont set me free
in fact, so often,
they just cage me in
a box of my own thoughts
made of paper and of pen

but it passes the time
and soothes my mind
in moments that I miss you
cause theres solace in songs
that seem to calm
the lonely beast within me

im used to my own emotions
